FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Who are your sessions suitable for?
A: All sessions, whether movement, massage or meditation, are suitable for adults of all fitness levels and experience. Treatments and practices are adapted to your individual needs, abilities, and goals. However, please remember that yoga and massage therapy are complementary therapies, and are designed to support wellbeing, not replace medical care. If you have an acute injury, illness, or are under medical treatment, please consult your healthcare provider first.

Q: Where do sessions take place?

A: All in-person 1:1 treatments and yoga sessions take place in my calm, private home studio in the South Lakes. The space is designed to be welcoming, cosy, and comfortable - a place where you can truly switch off and relax. There is an option to book an online yoga therapy session if you prefer to practise in your own home. Private group movement and meditation sessions (6 to 12 people) can either take place in your private event space, or we can explore suitable event spaces together to find something that meets your vision for the session. Corporate sessions can take place in your workplace, conference rooms or event space.

Q: What should I wear for my session?

A: For massage, undress to your comfort level - you’ll always be appropriately draped with towels during the treatment. For yoga sessions, wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.

Q: How do I prepare for my 1:1 appointment?

A: Try to arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in before your session. It’s best to avoid eating a heavy meal or drinking alcohol beforehand. After your treatment, drink plenty of water and allow some quiet time to rest if possible.

Q: How long is a 1:1 session?
A: Sessions can be booked for 60, 90 or 120 minutes, though the structure adapts entirely to your needs.

Q: How often should I book a 1:1 session?
A: Most people benefit from a massage every 4-6 weeks for general relaxation and maintenance, while those with stress, muscle tension, or active lifestyles may benefit from treatments every 2-4 weeks. If you’re dealing with chronic pain or recovering from an injury, more frequent sessions such as weekly or fortnightly may be recommended initially, before moving to a maintenance schedule. I will always create a plan based on your individual needs to help you get the best results.

Q: Are sessions confidential?
A: Yes. Any therapy supervision is strictly anonymous.

Q: Can I stop seeing my doctor if I do Yoga Therapy?
A: No. Yoga Therapy complements medical care and can be integrated with your healthcare team.

Q: What is the difference between 60, 90, and 120-minute sessions?
A:

  • 60 mins – Targeted or focused work on specific areas.

  • 90 mins – More comprehensive, full-body treatment.

  • 120 mins – Extended sessions, combining deeper release, longer relaxation.

Q: Do you use oils or creams?
A: All massage treatments use a high-quality, all-natural vegan massage wax, which is gentle on skin and environmentally friendly.

Q: Can I book a massage if I am pregnant?
A: Pregnancy Massage is suitable for those who are over 12 weeks pregnant. Each session is tailored for your safety and comfort.

Q: What should I know about your professional boundaries?
A: All treatments and yoga sessions are carried out in a safe, respectful, and professional environment. Any inappropriate behaviour or requests will bring the session to an immediate end, with payment still due in full.

Q: Do you have a cancellation policy?

A: 1:1 appointments can be rescheduled or cancelled up to 24 hours before your session. Private groups and corporate session cancellations or rescheduling requests require a minimum of 72 hours notice. Changes made with more than 72 hours notice can be rescheduled at no charge*, while cancellations made within 72 hours of the session are charged in full. For block bookings, packages and programmes, sessions are non-refundable but may be rescheduled with sufficient notice where possible.

*Please be aware that where external venue hire is required, any non-refundable venue costs will be payable in addition to the cancellation policy.
