FAQs
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How long is a 1:1 session?
A: Each session is 90 minutes long. How this unfolds depends entirely on your needs.

Q: What if I have never done any yoga before?
A: This is not a problem at all. No prior experience is needed.

Q: Is there a minimum number of sessions I need to book?
A: You don't need to book a set number of sessions. However, I usually recommend at least 6 to 10 weekly sessions to begin with, so that you can establish a practice and truly begin to feel the effects of the work. There are discounted 1:1 Packages available for 6 and 12 sessions, which can be used either as a block of sessions or spread out over 6 and 12 months, respectively. They also include access to all group classes.

Q: How long will it take to feel the results?
A: There are many factors involved in this, and depending on the focus of your practice, you may notice results pretty quickly, or they may take longer to develop.

Q: Are all the sessions online?
A: Yes, all 1:1 sessions take place via Zoom. Being able to conduct sessions online means that you are surrounded by the comfort of your own home. This way of working also makes it much easier for you to participate in the session, as you do not have to worry about taking extra time out of your day to travel to a studio, pay for parking etc. This is often a great relief to those dealing with persistent pain or limited mobility.

Q: Are all 1:1 sessions confidential?
A: Yes. Although, my supervisors at The Yoga Therapy Institute will oversee my cases to ensure that you receive the best possible care and support; they are kept anonymous.

Q: Can I stop seeing my doctor if I come for 1:1 sessions?
A: No. Yoga Therapy is a complementary therapy rather than a replacement for medical care. I am happy to work as part of your wider healthcare team, which includes doctors or medical professionals. If you currently have an acute injury or are in crisis, please contact a suitable medical professional or helpline as soon as possible.

Q: I have already previously applied for the Maitrī Programme. Can I apply again?
A: Yes, of course. You may apply for any or all of the Maitrī Programme offerings as they come up throughout the year.

Q: Will I need to provide evidence of my financial situation to apply for the Maitrī Programme?
A: Not at all. If you are applying for the Maitrī Programme, I trust that you feel that you would benefit from 1:1 sessions but are unable to fund the usual 1:1 Package prices.

Q: Do you offer a payment plan?
A: While there isn't a payment plan option at checkout, please do let me know in your consultation if you would prefer to break the price down over a few months. I would never want the cost to be an obstacle for you, and I'm sure that we can come to an agreement.

Q: Do you have a cancellation policy?
A: 1:1 sessions can be rescheduled or cancelled up to 24hrs before the start time in your account area. Please see the Terms of Service for the full cancellation policy.
