ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome - I'm so glad you're here!
My name is Sally Gardner, and I am a devoted student and practitioner of yoga, a qualified 500hr+ yoga teacher, massage therapist, somatic movement instructor, yoga nidrā facilitator and an 850hr yoga therapist in training with The Yoga Therapy Institute, Amsterdam. With both in-depth training and years of hands-on practice, I bring both depth of knowledge and genuine warmth to every session.
I'm passionate about movement, recovery, and helping people feel genuinely good in their bodies - and I try to live that out every day. You're as likely to find me on my bike or halfway up a fell as you are in the studio. I train in the gym, hike the fells, and cycle the roads and trails around the Lakes and Dales. That active life keeps me deeply connected to what bodies actually need - to perform, to recover, and to feel at ease - and it comes into everything I do with clients.
Over the years I've had the privilege of working with a wide range of people: those navigating stress, burnout, and chronic pain; people living with conditions such as CRPS, fibromyalgia, and osteoarthritis; and just as often, active people - hikers, cyclists, and gym-goers - whose bodies are asking for a little more support to keep doing what they love. I've also been there myself. Having navigated persistent pain and chronic tension in my own life, I know first-hand that real change is possible, and that experience gives me a level of understanding and compassion that goes beyond what any training alone can teach.
Whatever brings you to me, I've learned that the body and mind are far more connected, and far more capable of change, than we're often led to believe. My approach weaves together a thorough grounding in anatomy and physiology with the wisdom of yogic philosophy and modern pain research. Every session is personalised, trauma-aware, and shaped entirely around what you need - whether that's therapeutic massage, yoga therapy, breathwork, meditation or an integrated combination of all of these. There's no rushing, no one-size-fits-all, and no pressure. Just a warm, safe space where you feel genuinely heard, and where lasting change becomes possible.
I also want you to feel completely confident in the care you receive. Selected cases are overseen by my supervisors at The Yoga Therapy Institute as part of my continued professional development, ensuring you always receive the highest standard of support. All cases are kept fully anonymous and only ever shared with your explicit consent. I'm also happy to work alongside other healthcare professionals, using yoga therapy as a powerful complement to your wider care. As a student member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, I uphold their professional code of ethics in everything I do.
If any of this resonates - if you're ready to feel better in your body, move more freely, and find a little more ease in your days - I'd love to work with you.
ॐ शान्ति शान्ति शान्तिः
oṃ śānti śānti śāntiḥ
(Om, peace in the body, peace in the mind, peace in the universe)
